Expatriate salaries will increase significantly in 2011-2012

The oil industry in the Middle East is witnessing an unprecedented boom and a huge capital investment of US$500billion is planned by Saudi Aramco in the next 5 years. There is a huge shortage of skilled manpower for the oil and gas sector in the Middle East and the English-language trained pool of expatriates is dwidling.
We are already witnessing a Talent War in the Middle East with Oil Companies, EPC contractors, Oilfield service providers willing to go the extra length to attract the best talent. In my opinion, this will lead to further increase in Expatriate salaries, and there could be a possibility of the Middle East Govts. offering Permanent Residence and Citizenship rights in future.
